Art Explorers: Mixed Media Art Class

Creating with colors, textures, and imagination!

Our Art Explorers class invites preschool through 5th grade students to dive into the exciting world of mixed media art, where creativity has no limits! Children will experiment with a wide variety of materials—paint, clay, fabric, paper, recyclables, and more—to bring their ideas to life through hands-on, open-ended projects.

What Children Will Learn:

🎨 Exploring Materials & Techniques

• Painting with watercolors, acrylics, and sponges

• Creating textures with clay, yarn, natural elements, and stamps

• Collaging with paper, fabric, and mixed textures

• Introduction to sculpture, printmaking, and recycled art

🧠 Creative Thinking & Self-Expression

• Turning everyday objects into works of art

• Developing visual storytelling through color, shape, and design

• Learning there’s no “right” way to create—just their own!

✂️ Fine Motor & Artistic Skills

• Cutting, gluing, layering, and assembling multi-step projects

• Practicing hand-eye coordination and focus

• Following guided instructions while making independent choices

• Weekly themed art projects to take home

• Group art displays and mini “gallery walks”

• Learning to describe and celebrate their own work and others'
